Protective Life Corporation

In 1907, Governor William D. Jelks founded the Protective Life Insurance Company. By the time the company was 50 years old, in 1957, in had nearly $1 billion worth of policies in force. The company now has four insurance providers: Protective Life Insurance Company, Protective Life & Annuity Insurance Company, West Coast Life Insurance Company, and Lyndon Insurance Group, Inc. and Affiliates.

In 2007, the company celebrated its 100th anniversary, with more than $252 billion of life insurance policies in force. That number is only increasing as the company expands and acquires other quality providers, including United Investors Life and Liberty Life (2011).
