Life Insurance Rate Quote for Singles

Some people may ask this question when it comes to getting a life insurance rate quote: How does life insurance benefit a single or unmarried person?

That is an interesting question. I myself am single and am in the process of getting my own life insurance policy. For me, it gives me peace of mind that if something were to happen to me, all of my debts could be easily paid for, and then I can also leave some money behind to help take care of my parents.

So, once you've decided you're going to get a life insurance policy, what's next?

You begin the process by getting your life insurance rate quote. This will give you an idea as to how much life insurance will cost for you. This rate quote however is not a final price. You still have to go through the life insurance carrier's underwriting process.

This process usually takes 4-6 weeks and can involve getting attending physician statements from your doctors, as well as your motor vehicle record. This information will help the life insurance company determine how much of a risk you are to insure.

Once the underwriting process has been completed, you will receive your new life insurance policy in the mail. You'll probably have to sign a few pages and send back your first premium; but once that's completed, you will have your very own life insurance policy.

All in all, it normally takes a month or two from when you get your life insurance rate quote to when you have your life insurance policy in hand and in force.
